Bringin' It All Back Home: Tripleshack
After laying down basic tracks in Paradise, Brendon has returned home to finish up at Tripleshack Studio with violinist Scott Joss on board for the end days. TBR this winter, on Tripleshack Records.

Women's Health Specialists
Roe v. Wade 35th Anniversary Celebration
Thirty-five years ago, women in our country finally won legal ownership of their own bodies. Let’s keep it that way. Kudos to the women at WHS, on the front lines for reproductive justice.

Bitter dregs...
In a rare live appearance, Brendon and the band celebrated the truly bitter end of their HQ, the Red White & Brew. As disreputable as the band it housed, it will be sorely missed.
Summer 07
Solo Smorgasbord and the Debut Album
This summer Brendon is paring down to a solo smorgasbord. Stay tuned.

Cinco de Mayo at Red, White and Brew
Trumping mere logic, the slowest song ever written did indeed evoke a mosh pit, and Miller and Moss proved that old guys can still rip it up. Most intriguing new fan: "Undercover Cop."Next week: Brendon plays a rare solo acoustic set at the Post Office's singer-songwriter showcase on Saturday, May 12 @ 10pm.

Back in Paradise
Meanwhile, back in Paradise, the bees have vanished and the weather is unseasonably warm.

RIP, Mighty Thunderchief!
Tragically, the trogs at UPS decapitated Mikey's grand old instrument in transit, and then dumped the battered corpse at the front door of HB Central. A hideous sight, its severed head askew.

"You motherf*!*@%s with the personalized steins — you know who you are!"
An enthused and well-lubricated crowd christened Mikey's new bass guitar on Saturday night, Feb. 24. Brendon and the band have yet to scrawl their names on a stein, but Mikey just turned 21, so there's plenty of time.

The Thunderchief Takes a Bow
Mikey's mighty cannon played its swan song last week. Its electrified replacement is anticipated next week.

The Usual Suspects
The home gang showed up to celebrate the fresh year for Brendon's debut performance of Sassafras River. To listen to the song first-rehearsal v1, just click the bundle of dynamite, upper right.

Kicked Out of Calabama:
Too Slow for Simon Legree's
Last night, after a single set, the irrational overseer at the aptly named Simon Legree's in Willow Creek banished the band to the Trinity wilderness.
The audience was not amused by the band's premature flight. However, Friday's rousing reception at Has Beans in Eureka was a pleasant counterpoint, with an overflow crowd enjoying Brendon and the band's first appearance in Humboldt County.

True hoot
Last night's show at Chico's 1078 Gallery with DUSTY RHODES AND THE RIVERBAND was fun for all.

"There would enter Paradise people whose hearts would be like those of the hearts of birds."
Translation of Sahih Muslim, Book 40: The Book Pertaining to Paradise, Its Description, Its Bounties and Its Intimates (Kitab Al-Jannat wa Sifat Na'imiha wa Ahliha), Verse number 6808:Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: There would enter Paradise people whose hearts would be like those of the hearts of birds.

85 Years of Music
On Aug. 25 at the Anderson Grange Hall, Brendon and the band impressed their elders at beloved local music teacher and social justice activist Fulton "Do" Doty's fabulous 85th Birthday Bash. The opening band, including a member on spoons and a guitarist on a c. 1940 Gretsch, made a smooth intro to Brendon and the band, who evoked approval (and a waltzing couple or two) from the spirited seniors.

"I Do Believe the Devil Came to Dana Tonight!" On the Rez, On the River: Brendon Alvord at Gathering of the Tribes Music Festival
As the singer of the Mountain Gypsy Band noted, Brendon and the band shook up the spirits with the help of Scott Joss, Merle Haggard's fiddlemaster. Despite multicultural misunderstandings and an audience too elevated to provide corporeal support, the music lured folks out of their tents in the company of a throng of glowing orbs, which swirled around the band for the duration of the set.
On Sunday afternoon, Brendon played a rare solo acoustic set. The blinding sun precluded further orb viewings, but audience members assured us they could still see them with their third eyes.
